Inspirational Cambridge Summer School for Ages 13-18

Issos provides high-quality academic summer school teaching tailored specifically to the unique needs of its cohort of international students. Classes convene for three hours every weekday morning, delivered by a team of teachers, all of whom are experienced professionals in their respective fields. Students at Issos have the opportunity to select one academic subject, which they then pair with one of the offered elective classes, dedicating their focus for the three-week duration at the institution.

Recognising that the students are on summer break, Issos strives to provide a fun-filled summer experience.

During their three-week stint on campus, Issos curates an enviable array of events to engage students outside the confines of their classrooms. These events aim to immerse students in the rich cultural tapestry of the UK and acquaint them with renowned landmarks and vibrant cities. On Wednesdays, students embark on half-day trips, while Saturdays are reserved for full-day excursions, offering a delightful respite from their regular class schedules. Evenings at Issos are always a treat, with a plethora of activities lined up. These evening events, designed to foster relaxation and camaraderie, give students an opportunity to interact with peers beyond their academic circles.

Accommodation is located in the beautiful grounds of The University of Cambridge, in one of its historic colleges. Students are housed in an area exclusive to ISSOS and are segregated by gender and age range. The majority of rooms are shared. Students will enjoy access to the University’s world-class facilities and will be just a short walk into the picturesque town centre and the River Cam.

At the St Andrews location in Scotland, Issos Summer School extends an opportunity for students aged 13-18 from around the globe to immerse themselves in the environment of one of the UK’s premier universities. St Andrews holds a special place for ISSOS, serving as its foundational site.

Here, students get to delve into the unique atmosphere of a secure yet lively town, experiencing the essence of Scotland’s leading university. The town boasts three pristine beaches, mediaeval cobbled streets, and top-tier golf courses, making it a favourite among many students. Their comprehensive three-week stay in St Andrews allows young individuals to engage in a blend of academic learning, creative enrichment, and thrilling adventures.

To ensure a diverse cultural setting, enrolment is capped at 10% for each nationality, and there’s a conscious mix of native and non-native English speakers. Every student picks an academic and an elective course, with evenings and weekends dedicated to an array of activities and cultural excursions.
